Hurling Club, usually just Hurling, is an Argentine sports club, located in the Hurlingham district of Hurlingham Partido in Greater Buenos Aires. Although field hockey and tennis are also practised at the club, it is mostly known for its rugby union team, which currently plays in the Torneo de la URBA Grupo I, the first division of the Unión de Rugby de Buenos Aires league system. The field hockey team competes at tournaments organised by the Buenos Aires Hockey Association. ==History== Irish Argentine immigrants were the first to introduce the practice of Hurling in Argentina in 1887. They later formed the first team which was named "Buenos Aires Hurling Club" in 1900. By 1922 the Argentine Hurling Federation was founded, being Miguel Ballesty elected as first president of the club. Two years later the club opened its first sports facilities in Villa Devoto, Buenos Aires. Although the practise of hurling was decreasing the club added other sports during the 1940s, such as field hockey and rugby union. For this reason, BA Hurling Club decided to change its name to "Hurling Club", which has remained to date. In 1945 Hurling acquired a land in Hurlingham, Buenos Aires where the club created its new facilities, completing them three years later. In 1955 the club buildings were completely burned down. The club was later rebuilt, also adding a golf course in 1963.〔(Club History on official website )〕 Hurling has also a field hockey section which has become the most successful of the club, having won 12 championships to date (9 titles by men's team and 3 by women's). 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Hurling Club」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
